VoIPYourLife provides 911 and E911 service nationwide in the US except in Alaska and Hawaii, and nation wide in Canada. Depending on your location, VoIPYourLife provides two types of 911 services. Basic 911 Service and Enhanced 911 (E911) Service. E911 Service operates differently from Basic 911 service, and your safety depends on you being well-informed of those differences and their implications.
Basic 911 Service: If you dial 911 and are live in an area where 911 services are available but E911 services are not available, the emergency operator who takes your call will not automatically have access to your physical location or your phone number, so please be prepared to give him/her that information. As additional emergency centers in your area become equipped to receive E911 customer information, we will automatically upgrade your account to E911.
E911 Service: If you dial 911 live in an area where E911 service is available, your telephone number and the address you have registered or will register during the sign-up process will be automatically forwarded to the most appropriate emergency dispatch center. Consequently, the emergency operators will have immediate access to the information they need send help directly to your location. Please keep in mind that, the address you register with VoIPYourLife is the address that will be automatically forwarded to emergency services when you dial 911 - therefore, if you relocate either temporarily or permanently, you must update your address by clicking on the member login on the VoIPYourLife home page prior to any such move so that emergency services always has the correct information regarding your whereabouts.
